Chittagong University Of Engineering & Technology (CUET), is one of the prominent and prestigious degree awarding institute in the engineering education of Bangladesh. The University has nine engineering departments under five faculties. Civil and Water Resources Engineering (CWRE) department is under the faculty of Civil Engineering.
About the CWRE Department
Civil and Water Resources Engineeringdepartment(CWRE) offers both undergraduate and postgraduate program. Each year 30 students has been admitted in the department.It is located at the 2nd floor of the Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME) Building.
Our History
The Department of Civil and Water Resources Engineering (CWRE) has been established in 2015 at Chittagong University OfEngineering & Technology (CUET)with the vision of developing specialized personnel on Water Resources sectors in Bangladesh. The journey of this department started with opening its door to 30 students.
Mission and Objectives
Bangladesh faces its challenging situation over decades relating water supply and sanitation, storm water drainage system, ground water pollution, river erosion, draught, flood, climate change, sea level rise, coastal erosion etc. managing water resource has become one of our biggest challenges. The mission of this department is to produce well-qualified graduates capable of mitigate the currentproblems and ever expanding needs of sustainable development and management of water and related resources of the country.
The major educational objectives of this department are to prepare the students to acquire ability to solve civil and water resources engineering problem, to design and conduct experiments on the related engineering problem, to function on multi-disciplinary teams and to understand professional and ethical responsibilities.
Teaching Excellence
At present there are four highly dedicated and experienced faculty members in this department.They all are knowledgeable in their fields and are eager to assist and motivate the students to achieve the highest level of success.
