Chemistry is
the core-subject of engineering education. The
Department of Chemistry at CUET is well furnished
with a modern research laboratory. The Department
is designed to provide basic knowledge of chemistry
& chemical technology to all engineering disciplines.
The courses of this Department cover a comprehensive
range of material science. The sessional classes
are based on the chemical analysis of materials.
With the growing need of the world, pollution
control, environmental chemical analysis, toxicity
in the environment, corrosion chemistry, quantum
chemistry, polymer chemistry, semiconductor chemistry,
instrumental methods of analysis, signal processors,
spectroscopy, chromatography and chemical process
industries have been included in the course content.
In addition to teaching, limited chemical testing
is carried out in the Department. There is a plan
for starting M. Phil. Program in the near future.
