Message from Head

As the head of Department of Biomedical Engineering at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), it’s my great pleasure that I welcome you to our university and congratulate you for being admitted in this department. We are determined to build up world class Biomedical Engineers and sincere, responsible persons from the enrolled brilliant students.

Biomedical engineering is a dynamic and exciting area that provides excellent career opportunities in various sectors of the society. It is a discipline that integrates engineering principles and the study of the life sciences and medicine. Students in biomedical engineering develop engineering strategies to effectively solve challenging problems in medicine and biology. The Biomedical Engineering Department has been started since 2 April, 2019 under the faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

We are committed to give our students an environment where they develop critical thinking and problem solving skills as they advance through this program. In addition to classroom teaching, the students are guided and motivated to practically implement the principles learnt in classrooms through  implementation in the laboratories which helps students to gain confidence and become skilled engineering professionals.

This bachelor degree program is designed with courses in the foundation of electrical engineering, biology, computer science engineering, mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, tissue engineering, and the combination of these. The supporting courses outside Biomedical Engineering consist of a strong background in mathematics, physical sciences, chemistry and humanities.

Although young, our sense of enthusiasm about what to do, and dedication to lead Biomedical Engineering to new heights is indeed strong. We pride ourselves on providing a supportive and friendly environment for our students.
