Welcome to the Department of Chemistry at Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology. There is nothing in the world which does not involve chemistry. With the rapid development of science and technology during the last century, chemistry is playing a powerful role to drive the progress of applied sciences, e.g. engineering, medicine and agriculture.  The department of chemistry offers an educational and research experience in the chemical sciences that is rich with challenges and opportunities for undergraduate students of all engineering departments, graduate and postgraduate students. It offers M.Sc, M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in chemistry where the students may work on natural product chemistry, environmental chemistry, nanochemistry, material science, computational chemistry, biological chemistry, surface science, polymer science, electrochemistry, theoretical researches.

In our department, all the faculties and staffs are well qualified, cooperative and hard-working, as well as friendly with students. In this rich, natural environment and warm, friendly department, we nurture engineers who will build a fertile future society and researchers who will make scientific discoveries that will amaze the world.
