The Department of Physics of Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) is committed to ensure quality education. All faculty members of this department are involved in research activities to keep themselves updated always with the world’s research innovation. This department is one of the initial and vital departments of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology of CUET and started its journey as an independent department in the year 1968. The Department of Physics designs theoretical and experimental courses to equip undergraduate students to develop the basic scientific skills so that they can get themselves prepared to face the chronologically additive challenges of upcoming world. The department introduced postgraduate programs Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) in the year 2001-2002, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the year 2009-2010 and Masters (M.Sc.) in Physics (Research based) in the year 2017-18. Focusing on research excellence the best out come within its funding limitation is a prime objective of this department. Present research scopes of the department are available in Nuclear and Health Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Atmospheric Physics, Nanophysics and Applications. Beyond these, some courses in ICT and Physics Education are also offered in the postgraduate level. Recently, more wings of advanced research have been created through both national and international collaboration with other research institutes and Universities.
