Rahanat Ara Jafar is currently working as a lecturer at the Department of Architecture of the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology since October 2019. Her research is cited in the field of Architectural Engineering, with a special focus on humanitarian activity and projects. Rahanat has achieved exceptional progress in her B.Arch thesis research on "Hand-loom Community of Bangladesh" from the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology in 2018 which earned her academic praise and appreciation. She has worked as an Assistant Architect in a reputed Architectural Private Firm after her graduation. Her keen interest in architecture as well as social activism took her to be a part of various social assignments and projects which include volunteering for a free school teaching program for slum children, working with "Ship Breaking Workers Community" as an academic research project. Her roles as a social activist are profoundly highlighted as she is an active BGN Member of Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center from 2016, Campus Ambassador for Campaign Red Works for Menstrual Hygiene Issue Awareness for Women from 2017. Apart from teaching she also worked for the BRAC Institute of Educational Development, BRAC University as an Architect at their Humanitarian Play Lab under the Early Childhood Program in Dhaka. After gaining authentic and professional experience and knowledge from her various humanitarian, social, and academic research and projects, she is currently pursuing her Masters of Architecture in Housing and Settlement under the Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology.
