About Myself

Dr. Sazzad Ahmad has obtained his Ph.D. from Swinburne University of Technology (SUT), one of the leading research universities in Melbourne, Australia where he has worked in thermodynamic modeling, high-temperature materials processing and extraction of materials. Earlier, Dr. Sazzad has completed his graduation from the most renowned engineering university in Bangladesh, viz. Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering discipline with distinction.

Dr. Sazzad has noteworthy industrial experiences before he started his academic career at KUET in Materials Science and Engineering Department as an Assistant Professor. He has worked with few leading steel industries in Bangladesh and engaged in developing quality steel products. Dr. Sazzad has successfully completed research on recovery of zinc from dross, boiler tube failure analysis, designing of aluminum cast object, waste recycling pilot plant design, and failure analysis of deformed bar. He has been also awarded to the 2015 Mann Redmayne Medal by Institute of Mining, Metals, and Materials (IOM3), the United Kingdom for best journal publication.

His research focuses on advanced materials/metal refining; development of new materials and extraction processes; quality development of reinforced steel; thermodynamics and kinetics study of materials processing. Apart from the professional world, he would like to play cricket, badminton, and roaming around.
