As the Head of the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET), I have the honor of overseeing a distinguished assembly of educators and scholars. The establishment of the Department of Nuclear Engineering signifies a deliberate response to the escalating demand for proficient engineers and researchers, particularly within the increasing field of nuclear-related activities, specifically in power generation. Our department is dedicated in its commitment to shaping aspiring individuals into expert technical leaders, thereby contributing to the cultivation of skilled professionals in the domain of nuclear engineering. Dedicated to delivering a comprehensive education in Nuclear Engineering, our curriculum ensures a robust foundation and offers specialized studies in Nuclear and Reactor Physics, Nuclear Reactor and System Design, Nuclear Power Plant Engineering, and Nuclear Fuel Cycle. We emphasize the importance of a well-rounded education for success in the field, preparing students for national and international excellence. A key objective of our department is to foster advanced studies and research in nuclear engineering for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees, complemented by structured training and post-doctoral research. Our programs equip individuals with skills and knowledge relevant to nuclear power generation, nuclear medicine, nuclear food preservation, and applications in construction and workforce industries. In addition to our educational endeavors, we are dedicated to advancing Nuclear Engineering knowledge through ongoing research projects. Actively seeking collaborations with industrial partners, government agencies, and academic institutions, we aim to be a global center of excellence in nuclear engineering, contributing to effective and peaceful applications in power generation, nuclear medicine, agriculture, and industry.
